Super Bubble Mania Support

Overview

This is a brief tour of the functions and features of Super Bubble Mania. Note that many of these may be limited, if you are using the trial version.

For technical support please contact us at support@pixelescape.com.

Game Play

The idea behind the game is quite simple: POP ALL BUBBLES!

Of course there are many different kinds of obstacles to conquer and many power-ups to discover. We don't want to spoil your fun by giving away all available power-ups and baddies. There are many secrets to be discovered and if you think you've seen it all ... think again. From rhinos to birds to big bad clowns that throw bubbles at you, Super Bubble Mania is sure to keep you entertained for hours on end!

Startup Configuration

When you start Super Bubble Mania, you are presented with a configuration window, which lets you set the game options. From this menu you can:

Start a new game
Watch a demo of the game
View the highscores
Change the sound and music settings
View the credits
Leave the game

All of these options are discussed in the next few sections.

Controls

Super Bubble Mania supports up to two players with either keyboard, joystick or both. Following are the key assignments:

Action

  • Walk Left
  • Walk Right
  • Up (Ladders)
  • Down (Ladder)
  • Fire!

Player One

  • Left arrow
  • Right arrow
  • Up arrow
  • Down arrow
  • Spacebar

Player Two

  • A
  • D
  • W
    X
  • Ctrl

Joystick / Joypad

  • Left
  • Right
  • Up

To walk up and down, you need to stand right underneath or on top of a ladder.

Then first time you start Super Bubble Mania, you will be given the option to reverse the controls. If you select this option then the key assignments in the preceding table are reversed (i.e. player one will now be playing with the player two keys). To make the controls the same as in the table just make sure the reverse controls option is not selected.

Command Line Options

The following are command line options for Super Bubble Mania. Some of these are very advanced options, and can affect the performance of the game.

-config Forces the config screen to show up when you start up, even if you selected it to never appear again.
-waveout Makes the sound run through Windows Multimedia services, instead of DirectSound.
-debug Runs in debug mode, which allows cheats. :)
-opengl Opengl mode. (full version only)
-psycho Runs the game in the secret, insane, Psycho Mode! (psycho mode is done in opengl, and may not work on all systems) (full version only) (run at your own risk)

*The simplest way to use a command line option, is to edit the properties of a shortcut for the game, and add it after the text in the target line. You can add multiple command line options. On information on how to edit the shortcut to the game please see your Microsoft Windows* manual.
